The First Exeter Inquisition Talisman Tournament! (feat. Prizes)

The First Exeter Inquisition Talisman Tournament! (feat. Prizes)

It begins with a mighty wizard, now long dead, who once ruled over the land of Talisman using the power of a magical crown, forged in the Valley of Fire by spirits cruelly enslaved to arcane magic. For many centuries the wizard reigned supreme until, after a long life spent amongst his books and spells, he sensed his days were drawing to an end. He resolved to hide his crown in the most perilous part of the most dangerous region in his realm, setting fearsome guardians around it. Once he had done so, he perished, proclaiming with his dying breath that only a champion with the strength, wisdom, and courage to take his crown would rule in his stead.

Hundreds of years have passed, and the realm, long ungoverned and unprotected, has grown ever more dangerous, becoming infested by monsters and troubled by innumerable evils. To this very day, the ancient legend draws gallant heroes to the troubled land – each seeking the Crown of Command and the kingship of the realm of Talisman. So far no one has proven worthy of the challenge. The seekers’ bones lie bleached and broken upon the Plain of Peril or else cast idly aside to be gnawed by wild beasts and monsters.

Introducing our first ever Talisman Tournament!

The structure is simple - one game, two hour limit.
Tickets £5 each, six places to be filled!

The winner takes home £20 of GW vouchers, the losers take home nothing but the bitter taste of defeat and the club takes the remaining £10 towards running a future event/making terrain.

If after two hours and an equal cycle of turns, nobody has captured the Crown of Command, the player whose character is physically closest to the crown (in terms of movement squares) will win. If two players are an equal distance away from the Crown, the player with the most life remaining will win. If both players have an equal amount of life, the player with the most gold will win (who says you can't buy favours?). If both players are equal on life and gold, both players will dice off on 3d6 for the prize in a top sudden death moment.

Players will randomly draw for their characters before the game.

I'll referee the event and all judges decisions will be final etc. Where applicable, the talisman faq from fantasy flight games will be used to settle any rules decisions.

We can pretty much run this on any Tuesday when we have sold six tickets - please register interest below and I'll speak to you and collect ticket money at the club over future weeks.

Shotgun the Bulletproof Monk!

Okay yeah I know I'll probably end up with the worst character in the game, and then end up spending most of it as a Toad, but I'll sign up anyway lol

Surely the player whose model is closest? I can see the potential for a bit of board-surfing otherwise...

Amusing as it would be to see everyone jump on the board, I must concur that it's best if the model is closest. I've edited the rules accordingly (got a feeling may have to do this a few times).

Even if Rob is the bulletproof monk, if he follows his normal tactic of hanging around in the outer rim till he is the most powerful character in the history of Talisman, the 2 hours will be up.

I'll play.
