Currently torn between two ideas, got a nice Blood Angels list floating in my head but also an Eldar scouting force which could be quite fun. Will flip a coin and see which way the wind blows .
Tactical Squad, 5 extra marines, Sergeant power weapon, Plasma gun, Missile Launcher - 205
Mounted in a rhino, Pintle mounted storm bolter - 40
Total – 245
Veteran Squad, Power Fist, Thunder hammer, Meltagun – 165
Mounted in a razorback, Multi-melta, Extra Armour - 95
Total – 255
OVERALL TOTAL - 500
Whirlwind, Storm Bolter - 90
Predator, Heavy Bolters – 95
Ravenwing Support Squadron, Multi-melta – 65
OVERALL TOTAL – 250
It'll be a roaming Ork war band for me!
[...]
What ya reckon?
They're both nasty nasty lists, but I'm slightly more scared of the Rokkits - it's harder to run away when your transports have been shot down.
However it's one Rokkit per ten models in the unit so you need a unit of 30 with 3 Rokkits and a unit of 20 with 2 Rokkits, and have ten points left to spend on something. Maybe 'Eavy Armour on both the Nobs?
The only change from a normal FOC is 1-6 Troops and 0-2 HQ, so that list should be fine.
Squats - I just couldn't find a way to shoehorn in a Guildmaster to make the Bikers count as Troops (and let me split up the Heavy Trikes). :-(
So:
Attack Squad (10-strong) - 195 points
Fast Rhino with Heavy Bolter
Leader has a Powerfist & Grudge Banner
One model has a Flamer
One model has a Power Weapon
An actual game list would be something like:
Attack Squad in Rhino,
5 Bikers,
A pair of Trikes as appropriate for the enemy,
A 5-man Warrior Squad as appropriate.
That's a total of four heavy guns, a Powerfist, two Power Weapons and a couple of Flamers, with everything else being Bolters, Bolt Pistols or S3 CC attacks, and no saves better than 4+. Heavy Bolters, eek.
Fair enough. I have gone for volume of fire. 24 S6 shots I am hoping will do some mischief.
Haven't thought about my extra 250 points yet though. Need more troops so am thinking about the fluff of an infiltrating scout force maybe some pathfinders and maybe some striking scorpions for funsies.
Scorpions would be a good sideboard unit v. hordes (although Lomo's 'too many Boyz to kill' list seems to have evolved into something else), while Pathfinders are a good anti-Marine and Terminator unit, especially combined with a Guideseer. Sounds like they would add a nice amount of flexibility to the overall list.
I've had to rejig the Attack Squad a bit to be able to take different list combinations and still come in under 500 points...
Attack Squad (10-strong) - 185 points
Fast Rhino with Heavy Bolter & Dozer Blade (oops, forgot about the dozer blade to make it WYSIWYG)
Leader has a Powerfist & Grudge Banner
One model has a Flamer One model has a Power Weapon - 15 points for a PW on a normal S3 trooper is probably a bit high, but I'm not about to redo the points in the codex just to get a unit to the 'right' points cost in a campaign...

Ian
Yeah I'll be running the following. Added a weirdboy for comic effect and also because my kustom force field has been less than useless!
HQ/General
Weirdboy - 55pts
Troops
30 Ork boys, 3 Rokkits, Nob with Power Klaw - 245pts
20 Ork boys, Nob with Power Klaw - 155pts
10 Gretchin, Runtherd - 40pts
Fast Attack
3 Defkoptas, Rokkits - 135pts
Heavy Support
Battlewagon, 2 Big Shootas - 100pts
Total - 730pts
I'll probably be running the list in two guises:-
1. Weirdboy, Both boy squads and the gretchin - 495pts
2. Weirdboy, Smaller boy squad and gretchin, koptas, battlewagon - 485pts
I now basically have 20pts left to spend, well really only 15pts and to make the maths easier in my head it needs to be spent on either the Koptas or the Battlewagon - suggestions?
Give the koptas those crazy bombs mate, they are only 5 points each from memory and you have 3 deff koptas, thats 15 points!!!!!! I think you can use them whilst turbo boosting aswell which is awsome whilst playing on 4x4 tables!!!!!
To be fair dude i think this list is the best use of your 750 allocation and the way you have broke it up to usable portions is spot on,well done gay lord!!!!!!!!!!!

The big boom is 15pt (each), but it does sounds quite entertaining. There are three unique lists you can make from whats below, two adding up exactly to 500pts and the other 490pts, so I'm pretty pleased. Just hope I dont regret taking out the big mek!
Cheers dude, take this as my final list: HQ/General
Weirdboy - 55pts
Troops
30 Ork boys, 3 Rokkits, Nob with Power Klaw & Boss pole - 250pts
20 Ork boys, Nob with Power Klaw - 155pts
10 Gretchin, Runtherd - 40pts
Fast Attack
3 Defkoptas, Rokkits, Big Boom - 150pts
Heavy Support
Battlewagon, Big Shoota, Extra Armour Reinforced Ram (edit by Ian) - 100pts
I'd be tempted by a Ram and another two Big Shootas on the Battlewagon for 15 points to make it more survivable, but the Bigbomm is also good and gives you more flexibility in combining units to fit within 500 points.

Ian
I actually meant Ram, thats whats in the list. Dunno why I wrote extra armour.
REd paint job for the battle wagon and also can add the dozer blade equivalent for the BW and also stik bomb chukka if they are in cover as ypu have no armour. No brainers really!
Since getting the wolves off Craig i've tried them a few times at home against various compositions and i've found I prefer them to the angels! Plus I was getting a tad bored of painting green!! So, heres my new list for the campaign:
Wolf Guard Pack, 2 TA, 1 with cyclone missile launcher - 114 pts
Lone Wolf, TA, Combi-melta, frost axe - 60 pts
Long Fang Pack, 3 Missile launchers - 90 pts
Grey Hunters Pack, 2 plasma guns, plasma pistol, mark of the wulfen, drop pod - 235 pts
Its split into 2 sections really, the grey hunters are the troop section wich I think will stay pretty much constant.
The wolf guard, lone wolf and long fangs are the component that will be swapped out.
Still undecided about the other 250 points though. I have got a unit of 5 skyclaws, 2 razorbacks and a couple of terminators here but we shall see.
Does the extra 250 list have to be 'handed in' at the same time as the main 500?
Does the extra 250 list have to be 'handed in' at the same time as the main 500?
As far as I know, what you need to hand in is your 750 point list. How you normally break it down is irrelevant - but hopefully Tellos will log in soon and give you a definitive answer.
Hi guys.
Ian is correct luke,i will need your full 750 point list on tuesday buddy. How you break that down and play your games is up to you buddy (as long as your fielding at least 1 troop per game.)
Ok cool, i've got the 750 worked out now, after a rather large ammount of confusion when trying to work out what combinations i'm thinking of fielding. As it stands I think I have the thunderwolf guy in the list more for a project than actual strategic usefulness... I'll see how it goes, the core block I have seems to be pretty solid so the extra 250 won't get much gaming done, especially considering i'd need to buy it!
I'll bring the list with me on tuesday though I will probably arrive shortly after 6 as its back to college :(
Edit; I would edit or delete the post of my first version of wolves but its the only post I can't edit.

OK think I will run something like this for 500 points
Guideseer (75)
Falcon (115) + Scatter Laser (15) + Holofields (35) + Spirit Stones (10) = (175)
5 Dire Avengers (60)
War Walker Squadron
War Walker + 2 scatter lasers (60)
War Walker + 2 scatter lasers (60)
War Walker + Scatter laser + Eldar Missile Launcher (65)
Comes in at 495 at the moment. Might chuck in a singing spear on the guideseer for funsies

My army looks like this:
5-man Terminator Squad, one model with Cyclone Launcher and one with Chainfist - 235pts
10-man Tactical Squad, Sgt with Chainsword, one marine with Plasma Gun and one marine with heavy bolter - 180pts
Whirlwind - 85pts
TOTAL = 500pts
10-man Tactical Squad, Sgt with Power fist, one marine with meltagun and one marine with multi-melta - 200pts
Attack Bike with multi-melta - 50pts
Overall Total = 750pts
Hope this meets the criteria. Let me know if I've got anything wrong.
