Just thought people would like to know that Rygas Roughnecks are holding a 40k tournament on the above date and attendees from outside the Rygas club are more than welcome.
Details are still a little sketchy as to the format at the moment but I have recommended that it follows the GT format in terms of points, army restrictions and scenarios, and I would be very surprised if they choose to do something different.
Entry fee is likely to be a mere £2 and there might be tea and coffee available too.
Naturally I'll post up more details when I have something more concrete.

Aye, myself, Tim & James won't be able to attend, we're at the 40k Online tournament in Bracknell that day.
And I'm away at a conference...

Bit of a shame you can't make it but I appreciate it is a bit short notice.
The Rygas commitee have decided to hold the tournament on the 16th instead now (I've edited the post title appropriately) and it looks like I will be organising it. As such I am planning to run it in a similar way to how its set out in the GT pack.
Armies must be from a current Codex (or from the website for Blood Angels) and no more than 1500pts using the standard force organisation chart. Please make sure you have a copy of the current FAQ errata doc for your army too.
We will play three games during the day, with each mission and deployment type being used once. These will be rolled up before the start of each game.
The start time will be 10am and please arrive AT LEAST 15mins early so I can get you registered. Also please bring a clearly written (typed if possible) copy of your army list clearly stating what each unit is and what upgrades it has. You will be expected to show this to your opponent before each game.
Entry fee will be a very reasonable £2 and I expect it to finish no later than 6pm. I hope to see as many of you that can make it there as possible.

Hmmm the 16th huh?
Two tournaments in two days, am I mad enough, hell yeah! :)
And why not? Two one-day tournaments on the same weekend will be good pactice for the main event. If you get at least four wins out of the six games you play (I'm assuming the 40k online event will be in a similar format) then you'll know your army is shaping up well.

Except Rob plans on taking sisters to 40K online and Guard to the GT.
The Rob Enigma we call that.
Yes, am up for it. Happy for you to crash at mine if you want on sat night rob.

Count me in!
Will be trekking up early from West Cornwall but at least it should be a good, full day of it!
Is it at the Rygas usual venue?
Luke.

Yes its at the usual place.

Do we just have to turn up?
n/a
Yes, but I would like to get a rough idea of how many attendees we may be getting before the event just to help me plan things.

I'll be going!

Count me in for this, have checked and have the day free...

I believe we can count on James F as well, he was interested just have to confirm with him hopefully tommorrow.
Jonathan, as we're using the GT rules pack are you also enforcing rules on painting etc? I'm assuming probably not but I dont know whether to take Guard or Sisters for a spin on the Sunday lol, I'm favouring Guard but they are of course rather unfinished!
Good point, I forgot to mention it above.
Armies DO NOT have to be painted, but models must be WYSIWYG or a reasonable approximation of the "counts as" rule. They do not have to be GW models either, just as long as its clear what they are representing.
Basically I am following the tournament rules in most aspects but I am not running an official GW event after all so certain aspects ahve been relaxed to allow people greater freedom (plus its all a bit short notice to expect people to have their armies fully painted in time).

Thank god for that! I was really starting to sweat on whether I could get my army painted for this weekend.

Paintballing most of Saturday so Sunday will probably be a day with the missus I am afraid. It seems that there is never enough wedding stuff we can be doing!

Congratulations again to Richard as the winner and comiserations to, erm, me, on finishing last. If anyone who attended has any feedback they would like to give about the tournament or our club in general then I would like to hear it, otherwise I hope you will all be interested if we run a similar event in the future.
