Fandex Help

Fandex Help

A forum I frequent most often, has made an extremely different Tau Fandex.

I was hoping that some members of the EI would help with playtesting these rules, and otherwise help spot Cheesy/Broken units/wargear/rules.

The people involve would be most thankful for any outside input into their project.

Thank you in advance.

I'm downloading it myself, and I'll make a print-out. (My black Ink cartridge hates me by now, I'm sure of it :P)

Hmm. Do you have a link to the forum discussing it? I'd like to hear the justification behind T4 W2 Sv3+ Jump Infantry that have all the bonuses of Jet Packs but are cheaper than Obliterators...

Markerlights that cause subsequent shots to hit that unit on a 2+, ignore cover and cause pinning is also a tad overpowered. ;-)

Anyway, we'll give it a go.

Cripes. This is why I stay clear of fandexes!

Someone has put a lot of

Someone has put a lot of effort into it but I think it's got some serious balance issues. The battlenet idea sounds really good but I wouldn't include it in a regular 40K game. Apocalypse and Planetstrike but it's far to potent and game changing for standard missions.

I'd have a go against it just to see how my assessments would pan out but I'm suspicious to say the least. I think someone read the Blood angel book and found a seriously green eyed monster sitting on their shoulder.

:P

I'd take help on my own, but I think you'd probably lose all hope :P

I only making Fandexs for the challenge.
With my own projects, I always compare to the 5th ed Codexi I have (SM, IG, BA) and even tonne stuff down by my own choice to try and keep balance.

I've signed up and asked a couple more specific questions, but no answer yet.

Having had a touch of

Having had a touch of insomnia last night, I posted a wall o' text in the TOdex thread (including some of Richard's contributions) and kudos to them, they've already done a revised version with some of the changes in!

The Battlenet is still a bit too disruptive, though.

Zack - I've downloaded your version and will read it when I have time, I'm tied up for about the next ten days...
