Apoc game on 24th

Apoc game on 24th

Honsou was talking to me last night about an apoc game this saturday, he said we had the back of the store booked and payed for. Who would be interested in coming along and playing? What ammount of points will each person be needing? I have 3000 points fo my standard angels I can field.

Aye, I was just about to

Aye, I was just about to post something to that effect. In lieu of that, let's just re-task this thread ;)

It is my understanding that we do indeed have the back-room at GW booked up for this saturday, and no longer have any plans for them (I believe there was something to do with another club that fell through). With various people unavailable, it has been suggested we just get whoever wants to participate together for a club an all-day apoc bash.

There's no particular special requirements: doesn't all need to be painted, no limits on super-heavies. Just be sensible, so make sure it is all built and you've got a list to save time and what-not.

Anyone interested?

I really like this idea, but

I really like this idea, but unfortunatley I am not going to be able to make it :( Good luck and I hope you get something sorted.

Come on guys- there must be more of you who are interested! We've got another couple of people coming in with their armies- westy and matt will be in, so is anyone else able to make it?

Depends. Saturdays aren't

No can do on short notice.

No can do on short notice.

It's a real pity that so

It's a real pity that so many people can't make it. The good news, for those who are coming or are considering it, is that we're looking good to go- so make a list of everything, bring it all and be ready to go as close to 10 tomorrow (sat. 23rd) as possible!

And remember: it doesn't need to be painted, but it should be built and if possible have a list written for what you're bringing.

Sorry to drop this little

Sorry to drop this little bombshell at such short notice but it's looking like I won't be able to make it after all. Just been told that we're going out for a meal tomorrow for my parents wedding anniversary, i've not been told the timings yet so there is a slim chance that I might make it but most probably not. Sorry again, I hate it when I find out about these things at the last minute!

That is rather bad luck,

That is rather bad luck, really. Hopefully we'll have enough of a turnout from the other people who expressed interest to be able to run a good apoc. battle. So, for those of you still attending or considering it:

Bring everything you've got, or that you can bring, and be at the store as close to ten (10 am) as possible. We'll be starting as promptly as we can, so try to be prepared if possible. And again, for those of you unsure: it isn't going to be too serious, it is just a bash for fun- so you don't have to bring all painted models, as long as they're sufficiently assembled and you can provide a list with points values it'll be all good.

So, even if you've not said you're coming- if you can make it, go for it, and bring anyone else you can!

Well chaps... Despite a

Well chaps...

Despite a disappointing show all around (of the 6+ people who had expressed an interest or said they were coming, only 2 showed on the day- Westy and myself), the apocalypse last saturday did go ahead. With such a poor showing, we ended up roping a bunch of kids in to play, which worked surprisingly well.

In any case, with 6000 points aside the game went ahead all the same, albeit with somewhat unusual teams... on the one side there were Eldar, Space Marines and Blood Angels, and on the other were orks, Chaos Daemons and the mighty, mighty Imperium.

I've not bothered to do a Battle Report or anything as sophisticated as that, but I've posted (and I'll upload, once I figure out how) a bunch of pictures I took... once/when I remembered to do so.

In any case, we may or may not have got the interest of a few more people- certainly, there were a few older chaps who wandered in and the ones I briefly spoke to about the club seemed interested. Oh, and before we get on to pics: a big thumbs up to Westy who, despite sitting the game out, put in a great performance as Game Master.

Alright then. Pics:

Alright, well that's all I took. I don't think they're in any particular order, and if they are I don't know what order. Just some eye-candy, really.

Oh, and for those of you that are interested: the game ended with a convincing win on the side of the only team with any real apocalypse forces, after the mass of heavy imperial armor spent all game destroying infantry out in the open with ridiculous amounts of firepower.
